The short version

JapaGrind is free to play and recommended for ages 13 and up.
Be kind. Pick a respectful name. We can remove names, scores or players who break the rules.
It's a game. The immigration steps, fees and timelines in it are simplified and are not legal, immigration or financial advice.
We may add optional purchases or ads in the future. If we do, we'll tell you first, and you'll always see the price before paying.

1. Who we are

JapaGrind ("the game") is provided by Zapex Technology Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). By playing, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

2. Who can play

JapaGrind is recommended for players aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please play with the permission of a parent or guardian, and have them read these terms with you.

3. Free to play, and what may change

The game is free today, with no ads and no purchases. In the future we may add:

optional in-game purchases, such as cosmetic outfits, that never block anyone from finishing the game;
advertising or sponsored content.

If we add either, we will update these terms and the privacy policy first. Prices will always be shown before you pay. In-game money and items have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

4. Playing with others

Other players in your city can see your player name, character and some game details. Chat uses preset phrases only, so no one can type messages to you. Please:

choose a respectful player name that is not your real full name and does not copy someone else;
not harass, threaten, impersonate or spam other players;
not cheat, exploit bugs, attack our servers or use bots;
not use the game for anything illegal.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

To report or block a player, tap them in the city, or find them under "Say hi", then "People nearby", and choose Report or Block. Blocking hides them from you right away. You can also email support@zapextech.ca.

We review reports and may remove offensive names, delete leaderboard results, or stop a player from using online features, with or without notice.

6. Not real-world advice

JapaGrind is fiction inspired by real experiences. Immigration programs, fees, timelines, wages and prices in the game are simplified or invented. Always check official government sources and qualified professionals before making real decisions.

7. Our content

The game, its code, art, text and the JapaGrind name belong to Zapex Technology Inc. You may share screenshots, clips and your story card for personal and non-commercial use, including on social media. Please don't copy, resell or rehost the game.

8. Availability

We work hard to keep JapaGrind running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Online features, leaderboards and saves may change, reset or end. We'll give notice where we reasonably can.

9. Liability

The game is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, Zapex Technology Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of game progress. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Important changes will be announced on this page before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
